Jo Goldspring MBACP
I can help if you are feeling overwhelmed by your problems, are struggling with anxiety, depression, or are concerned about your relationships with others.
I offer treatment relating to post-natal depression, and have experience of working with people who have experienced trauma or domestic abuse in their lives.
If you have suffered a sudden loss in your life or are experiencing loneliness, I offer a safe, supportive environment within which I will listen to your difficulties and help you start to take control of your life.
I have experience working within the NHS, public sector and charitable organisations, helping people make changes to their lives. Alongside my private practice I currently work for an NHS funded mental health service treating people experiencing anxiety and depression.
There are times in our lives when we struggle to cope and reaching out for help and support can be the first step on the road to recovery. 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year and, whilst talking about how you are feeling can feel scary and overwhelming, my aim is for you to feel more empowered and better equipped to make the choices and changes that feel right for you in order to feel happier, healthier, more confident and fulfilled.
My therapeutic approach aims to help you understand and tackle the underlying causes contributing to your difficulties, as well as helping you gain relief from the symptoms you are experiencing.
Together we will look to help you identify new ways of coping, support you to work through your problems, enable you to gain a greater understanding of yourself and feel better able to talk about and understand your feelings without becoming overwhelmed by them.
I can help you understand why certain things are repeatedly difficult and distressing for you and help you find solutions to manage the situation more effectively.
I am a humanistic, integrative and relational practitioner and offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy with adults. I use Transactional Analysis (TA) as my prime theoretical model and incorporate a number of other theoretical approaches such as CBT, and mindfulness to enable you to gain self-awareness and make the changes you want to make. My focus is on empowering people, identifying their resources and potential to help them find their own solutions.
Initial telephone consultation offered to assess your needs. Evening appointments available.
