Jo Glanvill MBACP
I believe in giving people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to speak and share their concerns in life. For some, they may not have the chance or confidence to speak up and express their feelings. Some people don’t know how to, they just know that something is wrong but don’t know where to start or can’t identify with what issue they want to explore initially.
I am a qualified and independent counsellor who offers a safe and confidential therapeutic counselling service to adults and young people, who are struggling with everyday challenges, including common mental health problems.
I feel passionate about giving back to clients what I have learnt experientially. I have experience in working with a range of issues, specifically with women who have suffered domestic abuse, relationship difficulties and family matters.
I am fully insured and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) upholding their ethical framework for good practice.
I offer open-ended counselling which gives the client the opportunity to have as many sessions as they wish with regular reviews on the therapy. I work using a Person-Centred approach which focuses entirely on the client and their agenda.
I offer a free 30 minute consultation where I will explain the counselling process and will ask some questions of the client to understand their situation. If we decide to work together, we will agree a time and date to meet for the subsequent sessions.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
