About me

I am an integrated counsellor and a member of the BACP. I have extensive experience in delivering therapy to people from the age of seventeen years old. I specialise in working with people with low self-esteem, low mood, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorders and phobias.

My approach draws on several different evidence-based models so that the therapy can be flexible and responsive to different needs at different times. I may include elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness practices, and experiential techniques, all grounded in a humanistic framework.

Drawing on my professional training and diverse life experiences, I create an authentic and supportive environment where you can feel free to explore and speak freely without fear of judgement or prejudice. Together we can explore and understand the issues you are facing, uncover insights, identify triggers and find the right technique or coping strategies for you to achieve your goals.

I have been able to work with a variety of mental health difficulties, and have skilfully integrated interventions, to meet the complex and individual needs of those seeking support. Alongside addressing these challenges, I believe that the relationship that we have with ourselves is crucial to consider when we are exploring and working with emotional turmoil and distress, and I have particular interests in shame and self-criticism and developing a compassionate self.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Sessions and Availability

Each session lasts 50 minutes, and I offer flexible options, including in-person, online, and walking therapy. I work with individuals - adults and young people alike— providing both short-term and long-term therapy tailored to your specific needs.

The first step is a complimentary phone consultation, where we can discuss your needs and explore how we might work together. This is a chance for you to get a sense of me and will help you decide if I am the right person to journey with.

If you prefer not to discuss things over the phone, you are welcome to contact me by email.
