About me

I have a practice in Seven Kings, which is close to the A12 and A406 and Newbury Park and Seven Kings Stations and I also have a practice in Liverpool Street EC2

My approach to therapy is based on the belief that with empathic, impartial and professional support, people can find their own solutions to their problems. Owning the solution is the key to a sustainable, successful outcome.

Moreover, as research shows there is a strong link between a successful therapeutic outcome and the relationship between client and therapist, it is important that you feel comfortable working with me, and I with you. My advice to prospective clients therefore is: come along for an initial meeting and see how it feels. This will also give me the opportunity to assess how I can help; if I believe there are other more appropriate forms of help, I will tell you.

If you are unsure about whether therapy is right for you, or you have any questions about what counselling entails, please feel free to call me for an informal discussion.  My diploma is in Humanistic counselling but I mainly work in a CBT way. (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, with twenty years of
experience. I work with individuals from a range of backgrounds presenting with a variety of difficulties including abuse, anger management, eating disorders, relationship issues, depression, self esteem and confidence, bereavement and specialise in addiction therapy.

I have over 20 years experience working for charitable counselling agencies and in private practice. I specialise in working with people who have addictions, and have developed a treatment programme that works by building small, manageable changes that become lifestyle-intrinsic; in other words they feel natural and therefore sustainable.

I always endeavour to meet a wide range of personal development goals and have completed training in Adult and Child safeguarding, Detailed Risk Assessment, Treatment Mapping and Health and Wellbeing

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
