About me

My name is Jo-Ann.  I am an integrative counsellor and my main clients are adult individuals. I offer within a confidential space, Face to face, online video call or telephone counselling.

Emotional health is just as valuable as physical health, in fact, my belief is that the two twin together. My experience has seen that many people are helped not only by attending a counselling process but also being able to change behaviours and thinking processes to live a happier and healthier life.

I can offer you counselling either by zoom, google meets or telephone.

About you:

Are you experiencing some thoughts that are more negative than normal? Are you behaving in different ways to how you normally behave? Are you unable to focus and pay attention?  Or, are you just feeling sad but are not sure why? If you are then maybe counselling might be able to help you.  Having that confidential space, and time, emotional support and understanding, and being able to work maybe through difficult emotions,  might just help you to make a change, both emotionally and behaviourally.  If you imagine a light bulb and how that glows each time it is switched on.

About me:

I specialise in working with adults who experience generalised and difficult anxiety,  and/or depression that is constant within lives, Bereavement, grief and mourning, attachment within past traumas of childhood, or trauma of sudden loss. Low self esteem, low self worth,  working through with Foggy brain, sadness, anger, childhood trauma from narcissistic parenting.  My recent experience has been working telephonically and supporting in a holistic and psychoeducational way with those in the workplace environment and helping to maintain their mental health so as they can remain in work by using support plans and goals to help ground and refocus their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Your counselling with me:

For your counselling with me, this will depend on not only how you present your issue/s but also what behaviours are present for example, anxiety. From there we will then decide together your best plan of support be that integrative, humanistic, cognitive CBT or psychodynamic of the past and present.

So please feel free to give me a call to discuss what is affecting you right now. This is free with no obligation to book a counselling session should you not wish to.

Jo Ann.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
