About me

If you are scrolling through all these profiles you are looking for some help and support.
It is so hard to know what help and support you need when you are in a difficult place.

I have worked as a counsellor for 20 years, in education, the NHS and now private practice. I have worked with 1000's of clients, young people, adults and couples, who come to see me  for a wide range of issues. Such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, separation and divorce, low self esteem and lack of confidence.

I have additional qualifications in relationship and sex therapy and see men and women who have relationship and /or sexual concerns. I have a nursing background which is really useful when working with people with sexual issues. I also work with people who have a physical illness and the impact this is having on their lives. Having a working knowledge of medication, treatments and the NHS enables me to have a better understanding of what that person is dealing with.

I am also an EMDR therapist which is an evidence based therapy, designed to help people recover from traumatic events in their lives. It might be a single traumatic event or it might be lots of difficult situations you have had to deal with in the past. It is also very effective at treating phobias, depression and anxiety.

Our mental health is very important, as a society we spend time and money on the way we look. We need to start investing in our mental health, therapy is a way of doing that. Relationships are so important to our everyday lives, when things go wrong it can impact on all areas of our lives. Therapy can give us the space and time to explore what is going wrong.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
