About me

Hello I’m Jessica, a qualified counsellor and member of the BACP. In my practice, based in Walderslade, I work with people to help them through a range of issues, including bereavement, depression, anxiety and family or relationship issues.

I'm committed to delivering support that is centered around you and your needs, and offer a confidential space in which I hope you will feel safe to fully explore what you're experiencing.

How Can I Help?

Everyone faces difficulties at some point in their lives, and at times we can feel overwhelmed by our thoughts and emotions. Counselling offers you the space to explore how you are feeling openly, in a safe and confidential setting.

I offer a non-judgemental environment for you to talk through and begin to process your thoughts and feelings and receive warmth, empathy and support.

I have experience with a range of counselling, from dealing with bereavement, to counselling for anxiety, depression and trauma. I’m passionate about helping people through difficult times in their lives, and to help them understand more about themselves. I believe self-awareness is a great tool in helping you through, not just what is currently happening in life, but any future issues or challenges you may face. Together we can work towards any goals you have, or changes you’d like to make.

Next Steps

I understand that taking the first step towards seeking counselling can be daunting, and finding the right counsellor for you is important. I offer a free 15 minute assessment phone call where we can discuss what is happening for you, and then if you feel comfortable we can book in your first session.

Face to face sessions take place in my confidential and comfortable counselling room in Walderslade. I can also offer online or telephone sessions if you prefer.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
