About me

There are lots of different counsellors out there, so I don’t want to bamboozle you with information, I know it’s overwhelming to try and pick one! So, I will try and keep mine brief. I am a qualified integrative counsellor with an office local to Banbury. I work with three different types of counselling, Person-centered, Gestalt and TA. In the currently circumstances i am offering online and telephone sessions.

About me.

I Studied at the Banbury academy of counselling and have a level 4 diploma in counselling. Iam currently studying for Level 5. I have been running my own private practice for nearly 2 year's and have 2 years experience working for Talking Spaces Plus. I also have experience in working with Aquarius drug and alcohol service with young people. I currently  work as an Early Help Pracitioner, working with whole families with any issues they may have.  My focus is on building a trusting and honest relationship with my clients, where you can come and be listened to and completely accepted for all that you are. I offer a safe place to discuss anything you may want to bring.

My work with you will be about curiosity and not judgement, to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I believe that in offering this you can get a new perspective and move forward with a new awareness of yourself. Is this what you are looking for?

I offer talking based therapy and encourage you to talk about you, your families and relationships. Your past, present and your hopes and desires for the future, I have experience in bereavement, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, relationship breakdowns, mental health problems and lots more. Many I have had personal experience of. I understand that it is difficult choosing someone you don’t know to talk to, and I take that seriously with compassion in our work together. I feel I am real and open and bring some humor to our relationship!

If you decide to work with me, we can arrange weekly sessions of 50 minutes, I charge a fee of £45, this is payable at the session (card payments accepted) I am a member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework (this can be found on their website) I am fully insured, and DBS checked. I am also supervised regularly to ensure safety.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a diploma in counselling level 4 I have worked for talking spaces for nearly 2 years. I have been a youth practitioner for Aquarius (drug and alcohol service). I currently work with Oxfordshire County Council in their Early Help Team.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
