About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist available for face to face appointments in our Fulham clinic as well as Telephone and Online Counselling Sessions. Should you wish to book online with myself or any of my colleagues then please go to http://booking.thebritishcbtcounsellingservice.com/ for a Live Online Diary.

I work with adults, children, families and couples and use a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (including Third Wave approaches; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy {ACT}, Mindfulness and Compassionate Focused Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy and Schema Therapy. I create an individualised treatment programme for each of my patients based on what they need and feel comfortable and taking into consideration what is proven to bring the fastest and most long lasting relief for their particular difficulty.

I have many years of experience across various sectors, including the NHS and in Private Sector organisations. I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with The Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and as a Chartered Psychologist with The British Psychological Society (BPS).

I am experienced in helping people to resolve the majority of problems that cause emotional distress and discomfort including (but not limited to):

My Philosophy

Life can throw all sorts of events and various difficulties at us, even more so in today’s increasing busy society. At these times, we can get stuck in our own thoughts and unhelpful patterns of behaviour, which can leave people feeling various, often uncomfortable emotions. I liken these times to being on a well-worn bush track, which it can feel difficult to know how to get off. However, there are many other paths out there, and with support, we can begin to forage a new path to follow. Psychology is helpful in finding this new path and developing the skills to get on and stay on it.

My Approach

I aim to create a safe space for my clients where they can share their current difficulties and we can work together to come to a shared understanding of these difficulties. From this shared understanding, therapy is a space in which to develop and practice various ‘tools’ to add to your ‘tool box’ to get onto the path you wish to be. I truly value working collaboratively and welcome feedback on how therapy is going, so we can tailor it to fit you.

I have experience both in Australia and the UK across various sectors, including the NHS, community mental health services, non-government services, schools, and hospital settings. I have experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults in these various roles. I have supported people experiencing depression, various anxiety conditions, addictive behaviours, disabilities, behavioural concerns, and relationship issues.

I primarily use a CBT approach, though I also use other therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness, narrative therapy, solution focussed therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. The approach will always be tailored to the individual as we work together to get onto the path you wish to be.

My Motivation

I have always been fascinated by the mind and how we as people think and behave. I’m motivated to help people and bring about sustainable difference and change in their lives. I feel privileged when people share their difficulties with me and find it immensely rewarding when people begin to understand their current circumstances more and being to find ways of bringing out the change they want.

A Little More About Me

I was born in Australia and am a keen traveller. I enjoy various hobbies such as photography and knitting and always have a book on the go.

Self Funded Treatment

  • Individual Therapy: £130 per session
  • Couples Therapy: £140 per session
  • Family Therapy: £140 per session

Health Insurance

Most national and international Private Healthcare companies are accepted including (but not limited to):

  • Bupa
  • Axa
  • Cigna
  • Pru Health
  • Aviva
  • Simply Health
  • WPA
  • and more…

It may be possible to use your private health insurance to cover the cost or part of the cost of your appointments. Each healthcare provider (Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Cigna etc) have slightly different policies but most of them are happy for you to approach us directly in the first instance.

Axa require a referral from a Psychiatrist in order to access your policy and we are happy to help arrange this with you.

Bupa require a referral from your GP in order to access your policy. GP’s are often happy to provide a referral following a phone consultation instead of a traditional face to face appointment in the surgery as it is more time efficient.

With the above a quick call to your healthcare provider should allow them clarify these details.

It is worth noting that not all policies will cover the full cost of your treatment. We will advise you of the availability of healthcare appointments, and any cost implications in your initial enquiry.

Some healthcare providers have fees which are different to our self funding rates detailed above. If these are less than our own rate we have to ask that the shortfall is made up by the patient. Please just remember to tell us who your provider is as soon as possible to avoid any confusion when booking.

Recent Testimonials

“I have struggled with anxiety for years and tried many different things. I had CBT Counselling sessions in Fulham over the course of about a year and I now feel much, much better. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a problem”.

– Katie (Fulham, London)

“My husband and I tried a number of counsellors in Fulham before we found The British CBT & Counselling Service. It was such a different experience to the ones we had had before and this time it actually seems to have worked! I would recommend that if you are struggling in your relationship you should try them”.

– Polly (Fulham)

CBT Counselling is hard work, but I think it is worth putting in the effort”.

– David (Clapham)

“The British CBT & Counselling Service were not the first people I went to for counselling. In fact I went to two other counsellors in Clapham first. However CBT with these guys was the only type of counselling that worked for me. It was a bit more expensive but I guess it was worth it”.

– Rosie (Clapham, London)
