About me

Hello and welcome, my name is Jess. I am a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and have chartered status with the British Psychological Society. I provide services to adults and young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties in the local region.

I uphold a high standard of care in accordance with the British Psychological Society and Health Care Professions Council ethical and professional codes of conduct.

My experience

I have experience working in different settings, including the NHS, the independent sector and the third sector and have worked with people across the lifespan. I have worked with people with difficulties including depression, anxiety, bereavement, low mood, attachment difficulties, personality issues, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, post-traumatic stress, body image issues, low self-esteem, self-harm, challenging behaviours and adjusting to physical health conditions. I continue to work in the NHS and provide private psychological services on evenings and weekends.

What I can offer

My background training includes a range of therapeutic models including cognitive behaviour therapy and integrative psychological therapy. I draw upon different psychological models including Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and tailor this to the needs of the client in a time frame which suits the individual. I believe it is important to adapt to individual needs and have regular reviews to help guide the treatment plan we develop.

I believe in the primary importance of developing a trusting, therapeutic relationship and I welcome you to have an initial telephone conversation with me to discuss how we could work together. Your initial face to face appointment will be a chance for us to develop our shared understanding of your difficulties and think about what you would like to achieve through therapy. I endeavour to provide a safe, warm and compassionate space for you to begin working towards your goals.

If you would like to discuss further then please feel free to ring me for a non-obligatory discussion.
