Jessica Leigh, MBACP-registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist
Are you feeling overhelmed, anxious or depressed? Having relationship, family or work problems? Struggling with isolation, disordered eating or identity issues?
Perhaps you are finding yourself 'too' sensitive or stressed or feel affected by unresolved loss or trauma. You may feel detached or confused, making it difficult to locate meaning, direction or sense of self right now.
A warm, intelligent and experienced Humanistic Therapist (Existential/Integrative) I provide effective short and long-term counselling psychotherapy to adult individuals online or by phone.
Genuine and empathic (yet in no way 'fluffy') I am competent and compassionate with a good sense of humour, and feel privileged to have witnessed extraordinary transformation with a diverse range of clients.
A former TV producer, I changed tack when chronic illness (and unhappiness) forced a confrontation with myself and some major lifestyle changes. Cyncial at first, my own experience of Therapy was revelatory.
That's why I genuinely believe that, at its best, this kind of therapy can become a restorative adventure. My approach to the work is helping you understand yourself more fully, at a deeply essential level, by identifying your assumptions, principles, values and goals.
Whatever's on your mind, I will support you to make sense of it safely and move forward with greater understanding and confidence.
Why Have Therapy? Well, it can be an enormous relief to face troubling feelings. Quality Therapy helps us to understand ourselves more deeply, enabling positive change and identifying pathways to a more fulfilling and authentic future.
The Way I Work: Relaxed, genuine and accessible I will listen to you closely, empathically and non-judgementally at all times, seeking to understand and reflect your unique experience in a direct and beneficial way.
Together we will ‘join the dots’ between feelings and experiences, facilitating deeper understanding and better self esteem.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
