I'm a warm, intelligent and experienced Humanistic (Existential/Integrative) Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering safe and effective professional services to individuals and couples from a lovely room near Chancery Lane Tube.
Why Have Therapy? Well, it can be an enormous relief to face troubling feelings. When exploring issues and anxieties within a confidential relationship of trust, people with all kinds of problems feel lighter and less burdened. Quality therapy can also help us know and understand ourselves more deeply, enabling positive change and identifying pathways to a more confident and satisfying future.
The Way I Work: I am not a 'blank screen' therapist. Genuine and accessible, I will listen to you closely, empathically and non-judgementally, working to understand your unique experience. I will bring a sense of humour and directness to the relationship and though I like to challenge my clients at times, will always be directed by your needs and goals.
I work with a range of issues including depression and anxiety (including generalised anxiety disorder); anger and rage; bereavement and loss; workplace stress, bullying and burn out; childhood neglect and abuse (emotional and sexual); relationship concerns of all kinds (from lack of confidence or coercion to break ups); loneliness and isolation; unresolved trauma; eating and other emotional disorders; fatigue, health anxiety or chronic health problems; identity and adoption or parenting issues: LGBTQ, gender and sexuality issues; behavioural and mental health issues; relationship problems; 'dissociation' (not feeling like yourself or distanced from yourself), loss of control and existential crises; decision making moments; persistent fears and worries, and addiction (drugs, sex or alcohol) among other things. I am passionate about the benefits quality Therapy can offer, and provide open-ended individual weekly counselling sessions lasting 50 minutes, or 60 minutes for couples.
I take up regular professional development opportunities, have qualified supervision, and will always adhere to BACP guidelines of professionalism.
