About me

We all experience difficulties at certain times in our lives, whether it’s facing up to loss, bereavement, life changes and challenges or a relationship breakdown. Or you realise you’re just not feeling ‘yourself’ and could be experiencing low mood, anxiety or depression. Perhaps life just isn’t shaping up in the way you’d planned. Counselling could be all you need to work through these difficult feelings and get you back on the right track.

I can help you to work out what might be causing you to feel this way, to make sense of past and present challenges and to bring into focus a clearer sense of yourself and how you relate to the world around you. The aim is to have more understanding of yourself and therefore to feel stronger and more able to cope.

I can work with difficulties including issues relating to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Feeling Sad
  • Low Self Esteem
  • Family Issues
  • Relationship Issues
  • Life Stage Challenges
  • Bereavement
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Separation and Divorce
  • Affairs and Betrayals

During our first meeting we can look at what you feel you want from counselling and the areas in which you want to look at and work through. We can then discuss what’s best for you in terms of length of therapy, be it an agreed number of sessions, or long-term open-ended therapy. We’ll set a regular day and time to meet each week, and also a plan for regularly reviewing our work together.

As well as running my private practice where I see people both face to face and online (via webcam, email or IM), I also work for The Terrence Higgins Trust, delivering online councelling for people living with HIV. I've sat with many different people with individual stories, whether it be bereavement, illness, relationship difficulties or coming to terms with their sexuality. You can rest assured I will be there for you and will do my best to help you to see things more clearly and to help you to work out how to live a better more fulfilled life.

My counselling rooms are in High Barnet, Hertfordshire, about a seven minute walk from High Barnet Northern Line tube and online.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
