About me

Welcome to my page. We are living in unprecedented and anxiety-making times. Covid-19 may have created issues in your life - be they situations with your health, your finances, or your relationship / family. Or, perhaps there were and are problems in your life irrespective of the pandemic.

I offer a confidential space online to explore any issue, and have a wide range of experience of working with lots of different clients from all walks of life. I work with individuals and couples and I have substantial experience working with addiction, depression, anxiety and relationship problems. When it is deemed safe to do so, I will once again offer face to face therapy.

After working in various therapy settings in London (the NHS, a rehab centre, and in my home), I worked in private practice from Ibiza, Spain between 2014 and 2018. I then returned to the UK and worked in Hertfordshire and London, before going on maternity leave in 2019. I am now back at work and looking forward to using my experience of early motherhood and parenting with clients who may, for example, be struggling with issues such as post natal depression, or problems with children.

I am also a fully qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher (KRI), and use yoga / spiritual philosophy and the 12 step recovery ethos as a way of helping my clients understand themselves better. I am able to help my clients with meditation and basic yoga postures in order to help them with issues such as anxiety and depression.

I understand that going to therapy can be a really daunting prospect. It is not a quick fix, but profound and long lasting change is certainly possible if there is a strong, committed, trusting relationship between client and therapist.

‘The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek’ Joseph Campbell.

I believe that psychotherapy can help you rebuild or discover a better relationship with yourself, no matter how scary this may sound - which then in turn helps with the other relationships in your life. I think one of the most important aspects of therapy is to improve the relationship with ourselves so that we can live a more fulfilling and happier life (while understanding and having more perspective on the bad days, too).

A therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust and understanding can transform lives because it gives clients the chance to explore what is really going on for them, to understand themselves better, and to develop the resources to make the necessary changes. I will provide a confidential space for you to do this.

I would be very happy to hear from you no matter what the issue. Thank you for taking the time to read about my work.

Best wishes, Jess Drake
