I aim to offer a safe non judgemental therapeutic space to support you in making sense of yourself and current concerns.
I bring a humanistic, creative and warm approach. I draw on a range of different therapeutic tools to support you in disentangling difficult feelings and experiences.
Sessions can involve a variety of art making and talking. Art can be used as a tool when it may be difficult to verbalise and explore the unconscious.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a state registered Art Psychotherapist, registered with HCPC and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists
I have been working as a qualified arts psychotherapist in the NHS for several years in a variety of settings. I have a particular interest in adult mental health and working with those who experience psychosis and complex needs.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
