About me

Hi, I’m Jess! Firstly, I want to acknowledge that taking the first step to find a counsellor can often one of the most daunting, so thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. You may be feeling anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. Maybe you are unable to make sense of a situation you currently find yourself in or are struggling to form and maintain relationships. Whatever may be going on for you, you deserve a space to explore this.

As a person-centred counsellor, I will provide you with a safe, non-judgemental and empathic space where it is yours to explore your feelings, relationships, and experiences. I am here to walk beside you and support you on your journey of self-development and exploration to gaining a greater understanding and acceptance for yourself.

I believe deeply in the power of person-centred therapy and allowing my clients to feel empowered in who they are. As Carl Rogers once said “The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing”.

Finding the right counsellor for you is key. This is why I offer a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your needs and to see if we are the right fit for each other. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like some more information.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
