Jeremy O’Sullivan MBACP Person-Centred Counsellor
The Awareness Centre
2A Prebend Street
Hello, thanks for viewing my profile in your search for a counsellor. If you are looking for a qualified professional counsellor to explore what is on your mind or what is troubling you, I would love to help you. It can be difficult to deal and cope with things and even more difficult to talk about things. Talking and exploring can be so powerful and helpful. I offer a supportive, understanding and non-judgemental space to help explore what is going on for you, at your own pace.
I work with empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness as the foundation of the therapy - these simple elements can be very powerful in the counselling relationship and support loving, honest and kind self-exploration. The Person-Centred approach to counselling holds that each individual person is an expert on themselves with innate resources to deal with life, and these can be tapped into by providing the right conditions for personal growth and development. These conditions can be provided through the Person-Centred counsellor and the therapeutic relationship.
I work with adults on an individual basis and have experience in helping people experiencing difficulties in many areas and life issues including, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexuality, anxiety, sexual orientation, mental health, discrimination, alcohol issues, addiction, stuckness, loneliness, anger, loss, depression, stress, suicide thoughts, workplace issues, lack of direction, family issues, bereavement, coming out, trauma, and stress.
I also have significant experience in working in the LGBT community, including 10 years as a helpline volunteer severing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual communities in the UK and the USA.
I work in southwest London in the Tooting Broadway and Tooting Bec areas, and in central London locations. I am also available for counselling online or by phone.
I grew up in County Cork, Ireland in a farming community by the Atlantic Ocean and I am the youngest of 7 children. I have lived in France, the USA, and now I live in London in the UK. In the past I have worked in the hospitality industry, construction industry, worked with and studied horses, and also spent 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical project manager.
If you would like to talk with me about things going on for you, I would be very happy to help.
