Jenny Urruty MA, MBACP, UKCP Reg.
Looking for someone who will listen? Someone who will not judge or tell you how to live your life?
I am an experienced, qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with individuals, couples and corporate clients in Derbyshire (town centre location in Chesterfield) and Nottinghamshire (residential area approximately 1 mile from Nottingham City Centre) providing help with a variety of life transitions and changes; relationship difficulties, work related matters, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, addiction(s), depression, anxiety and stress.
I offer both short-term (6-8 sessions) and open-ended longer term therapy as required. Offering both enables either the focus to be on resolving a particular problem or allows for deeper exploration around more complex emotional difficulties.
Having undertaken specialist training that complies with the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards ('DANOS') also enables me to provide practical advice and support for those individuals who are having problems related to alcohol and its effects. If you are deciding to cut down or stop drinking altogether, then, depending on the number of alcohol units being regularly consumed, it is advisable not to do this without professional guidance.
How I work:
I provide a professional, safe and confidential environment to enable you to talk openly about difficult or painful experiences without the fear of being judged or criticised.
I believe each individual is unique and has worth regardless of their age, gender, sexuality or disability. Working from a Humanistic Person-centred perspective I trust that we all have the inner resources to find our own answers, heal and change given the right conditions and a helping relationship.
Why Choose Counselling/Psychotherapy?
Counselling and Psychotherapy doesn't claim to have all the answers to all difficulties but it may help you to untangle your thoughts and feelings enabling you to find new ways of coping or understanding them better.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a post graduate masters degree in Humanistic Person-centred Psychotherapy. Accredited by the University of Birmingham and The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy ('UKCP') and a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ('BACP').
As well as my private practice I have a number of years clinical experience working with both individuals and couples from a variety of organisational settings including GP surgeries, Health Centres, Media industry (both local and national organisations), Alcohol Services, Carers Federation and the Criminal Justice System.
My previous business background inspires me to have an interest in work related matters such as coping with redundancy, workplace bullying and stress.
My work is fully insured.
I have an enhanced CRB/DBS disclosure check.
