Dr. Jenny Turner, Clinical Psychologist
I am an experienced systemically-trained clinical psychologist who specialises in offering family-centred psychology services to parents and/or couples who do not have children.
I work with families who are affected by physical health conditions (e.g. cystic fibrosis, primary dyskinesia, asthma, diabetes, obesity, etc.), and/or emotional & behavioural health conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, school refusal, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autistic spectrum disorder, anger management concerns, etc.).
I also work with families who do not currently identify a particular problem, but who wish to enhance their emotional competence, communication and relationships.
I specialise in the overlap between emotional health and physical health, and I am an integrative therapist, who utilises the following evidence-based therapeutic models: Brené Brown's The Daring Way™, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as mindfulness and compassion based techniques.
Whatever your reason for contacting me, I will offer non-judgemental empathy and compassion, and I will empower you to find the way that best suits you and your family, through the challenges you are experiencing.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience.
I have undergone extensive further training in Systemic therapeutic approaches, i.e. re. working with concerns in regards to children, families, parents and couples.
I have also gained further trining in working with paediatric psychology approaches.
I am also a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator - Candidate (an evidence-based, therapeutic model based on Brené Brown's research). I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
