I'm a warm, friendly and approachable counsellor offering support with a wide variety of issues. Sometimes life's challenges can be difficult and you may find yourself struggling with depression, anxiety, worry, a general sense of unease, stress, past trauma, emotional stability or relationship issues. Whatever the concerns you're struggling with in life right now I offer a safe, comfortable space to allow you to explore those difficulties with no judgements.
Maybe your aim is to access new skills to manage problems better or revisit and work through past trauma, talk through a recent loss or gain assistance with feelings of low self-esteem, depression or generalised anxiety disorder. perhaps the space is to explore more about who you are. No subject is off limits.
It can get quite puzzling trying to make sense of all the different types of counselling on offer and deciding which one might be best for you. To try and help clarify I can explain the way I work and see if that fits with what you’re looking for, either in person or on the phone.
In brief I use an integrative approach, which means I draw upon different counselling theories to help us find the best way to meet your needs. My background is in person-centred counselling which focusses on the relationship between the client and therapist, and I have completed additional training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and solution focused therapy.
I also work with children and young people from the ages of 11 years old up, addressing and working with the many demands young people experience in our modern society from exam pressures, social media, peer pressure and schooling challenges, offering the young person an friendly confidential environment to feel comfortable to explore the difficulties they may be experiencing with Anxiety, Low mood, Motivation, Confidence or self-esteem.

During the past 4 years I have been working for the Adult NHS Wellbeing Services (IAPT) to provide mainly CBT therapy. I have also had the opportunity to facilitate group work.
