About me

Is life throwing you challenges? Can life feel overwhelming or out of control at times? Feeling stuck, not where you want to be? Do you feel low, but not sure why? Do you have a hard time saying what you need or even knowing what you need?

I offer a confidential and safe therapeutic environment for you to explore and process the challenges you are facing, at your own pace.

Counselling focuses on you and moving past any blocks that prevent you from living your life as you wish.

Together we can explore your present situation as well as past experiences that have led to you wanting to talk about them. Talking can provide the opportunity to gain a deeper insight and understanding of yourself.

I provide a non-judgemental space, promoting self-reflection and kindness, which are important factors in therapeutic change.  We will work collaboratively with the work you bring, you will be in control of your journey and together we could work to create a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Your starting point and end goals are unique as your challenges and feelings individually affect you. With this in mind, my approach is flexible and will be tailored to your needs, respecting both you and your goals.

Change can be facilitated in many ways, with an overall aim of reducing emotional distress and developing healthy coping mechanisms leading to a more fulfilling future.

We will regularly discuss your journey to check that you are still gaining what you require from counselling, and reflect on the steps that you have taken on the journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
