Coronavirus support
In these uncertain times you may be finding it difficult to cope with living in isolation as a single person, or as a couple or in a family living together. Being in lockdown or isolation can result in anxiety or depression, often compounding existing problems and can have an impact on intimacy and relationships. You may be coping with financial worries due to redundancy or uncertainty around work. Many people are having to manage disappointment and come to terms with a different way of living and working. Counselling can help you to explore your feelings and enable you to find ways of coping at this difficult time.
How Counselling/Psychotherapy can help you
I offer you a safe and confidential relationship without judgement, supporting you in discussing your concerns which may be difficult to share with friends and family.
I can help you to see things more clearly enabling you to explore your own choices. This will allow you to make changes in your life or come to terms with difficult experiences.
I can also help you manage issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, bereavement, anger, work or health problems.
I also have extensive experience of working with anxiety and complex and long standing phobias.
The way I work
My approach is integrative enabling me to offer a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. I place importance on developing a trusting relationship enabling you to work through your issues, regularly reviewing our work together to help you to achieve your full potential.
I offer Short term, long term, time limited and intensive crisis therapy to suit your requirements.
I work with individuals and couples over 18 at my private practice.
Working with couples
I provide counselling to couples in heterosexual, same sex relationships and blended families. I also work with couples in crisis requiring a more intensive therapy. If required I am able to provide counselling with a sexual emphasis.
My work with couples allows you both space to share your feelings without fear of judgement. I provide a supportive relationship in which you can feel safe to work through your difficulties. This will increase your awareness of how you relate to each other to improve your communication and resolve conflict, helping you to form a new and more positive relationship for the future.
If you feel you no longer want to stay in the relationship I can help you to explore your own choices and to find a way of moving forwards. I can also help you to work through difficult decisions concerning any children you may have and to manage the transition to parenting as separated parents.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
