About me

Hi, my name is Jen and I'm a qualified Person Centred and Level 5 CBT Counsellor.

I work in a humanistic way, using Roger’s Person Centred Approach, sometimes incorporating CBT activities depending on your needs. I'm committed to offering a service that welcomes clients of all backgrounds, working in a supportive, non-judgemental, non-discriminatory manner. I aim to provide an empathetic and safe environment, where you will have the opportunity, time and space to explore any issues you are currently experiencing, whilst gaining insight and self awareness.

The counselling process can foster growth and lead to positive changes within your life. I can help with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, low self-esteem, discrimination, relationship issues & abuse.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

I have 4 years’ experience working within local counselling services, offering support to a wide range of client's aged 18 and upwards. I also have over 3 years experience of working with families and children in a Primary School setting.

If you are interested, you can call or email me to arrange an initial free 30 minute session to find out a little more about why you have decided to seek counselling and discuss any expectations you may have.  There is no obligation to continue sessions following this initial session.

Should you wish to continue, we can then arrange suitable dates and times.  Sessions are 60 minutes long and are offered weekly or fortnightly. Due to the current situation, I am offering online sessions by Zoom or by telephone.

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
