About me

Hi I'm Jemima and I am a BACP registered counsellor with many years of experience. I work in a relational way, creating a safe and confidential space in which you can explore whatever it is that's going on for you.

You will be able to share your inner most feelings and emotions and feel heard. You may want to tackle an issue that's effecting your present life or you might want to work through something that happened in the past in order to move forwards. Sometimes piecing together historic events enables us to look at why some patterns of unhelpful behaviour may have developed in the present. It might be that you feel lost or directionless and you want to explore this and gain confidence in yourself.

My aim is that you will discover more about who you are which will lead to personal growth and the power to effect change in your life. I can help you develop healthier coping strategies and foster greater self acceptance.

We can start by having a free half hour consultation on the phone and you can decide if I'm someone you want to work with and equally I can assess if I'm the best person to work with you. After that we can have ongoing therapy to suit you, usually once a week.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
