About me

I have worked in relationship counselling for the past 20 years. On completion of 3 years training with the London Marriage Guidance Council ( now Tavistock Relationships ), I worked for 4 years in an LMG Centre.

For the past 15 years I have worked in private practice, 9 years of which included licensed work for Relate,in both relationship counselling and psychosexual therapy.

I have a wealth of experience which I believe strengthens my ability to appreciate and work with the uniqueness of each personality, and recognise the individual needs of my clients.

I work with couples and individuals over a range of relationship issues, including breakdown in communication, resulting in conflict and lack of intimacy, cross cultural differences, and sexual difficulties.I facilitate clients to gain insight into possible patterns of 'stuck' behaviour, looking at how upbringing and past experiences may be affecting present behaviour. I may suggest techniques which may be helpful in managiing in the short term.

Psychosexual Therapy.

I offer in-depth assessment, ensuring specifically tailored treatment,to couples and individuals who are experiencing persistent difficulties with their sexual functioning, where the primary cause is psychological.I help with various sexual problems, including lack of desire in both men and women, and -

For women, who are experiencing pain during intercourse, or inability to have penetrative sex.

For men, who are having difficulties getting or keeping an erection, or premature ejaculation.

I work in a non judgmental way, aiming to help find a way through difficulties being faced, in a caring and safe way.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
