About me

I offer counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to individuals and couples to help people struggling with many different aspects of their lives. I have worked with issues such as  anxiety, depression, loss/bereavement, sexual /intimacy issues, body image, sexuality, gender fluidity, menopause, low self esteem, self harm, substance abuse, redundancy, weight management, eating disorders , OCD, trauma and PTSD. I also offer hypnotherapy for phobias, fear of flying, fear of driving, nail biting , binge eating, partners of snorers, sleep problems, general anxiety, performance anxiety,low confidence, stammering, tinnitus and stopping smoking. I am also a qualified coach and can help you to achieve better performance at work or coach you for performance at interviews. I use a variety of approaches and can offer short or longer term therapy to suit the need. I offer sessions by Skype and telephone.

I believe that we all have the potential to be ourselves and to live satisfying lives but sometimes things throw us off course and we just need a bit of help to get there.

I have worked with a wide variety of people to help them work through a range of issues including bereavement, general anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, depression, eating disorders, sexuality, HIV status, relationship breakdown, self esteem, childhood trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, sexual assault, menopause, domestic violence and debt problems. I work in a person-centred way using a variety of talking therapies to help people to work through their issues. This means I won’t tell you what to do but I will help you to explore your options in a warm, safe and friendly environment.
I also offer hypnotherapy for nail biting, phobias, sleep problems, performance anxiety, general anxiety, low confidence, fear of flying and stopping smoking.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Psychotherapy and counselling - sessions are 50 minutes long

Individuals:  £60

Couples:  £75

Fees to be paid via bank 48 hours prior to your appointment (this guarantees your session).

Hypnotherapy - £65 per session, sessions are up to 1 hour 10 minutes
Hypnotherapy for smoking cessation in one two hour session plus complimentary follow up session after two weeks £150

I'm based in Bury town centre and offer face to face sessions in large, pleasant rooms where we can observe social distancing and safe working practices. There is on street parking outside which is free after 6pm.

In accordance with the BACP's guidelines for ongoing professional development, I have regular supervision, and ongoing continuous professional development.
