About me

I offer counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to individuals and couples to help people struggling with many different aspects of their lives. I have worked with issues such as  anxiety, depression, loss/bereavement, sexual /intimacy issues, body image, sexuality, gender fluidity, menopause, low self esteem, self harm, substance abuse, redundancy, weight management, eating disorders , OCD, trauma and PTSD. I also offer hypnotherapy for phobias, fear of flying, fear of driving, nail biting , binge eating, partners of snorers, sleep problems, general anxiety, performance anxiety,low confidence, stammering, tinnitus and stopping smoking. I am also a qualified coach and can help you to achieve better performance at work or coach you for performance at interviews. I use a variety of approaches and can offer short or longer term therapy to suit the need. I offer sessions by Skype and telephone.

I believe that we all have the potential to be ourselves and to live satisfying lives but sometimes things throw us off course and we just need a bit of help to get there.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy foundation course (2015)
  • Certificate of Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychotherapy, (PgDip) 2014;
  • Graduate Certificate in Counselling (PgCert); 2012
  • Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching, 2011;
  • MBTI Practitioner License 2010:
  • BA Hons in Psychology, 1984;
  • IAPT couple therapy for depression accreditied practitioner (2016)
  • MSc Counselling and Psychotherapy (2019)

I have worked with a wide variety of people to help them work through a range of issues including bereavement, general anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, depression, eating disorders, sexuality, HIV status, relationship breakdown, self esteem, childhood trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, sexual assault, menopause, domestic violence and debt problems. I work in a person-centred way using a variety of talking therapies to help people to work through their issues. This means I won’t tell you what to do but I will help you to explore your options in a warm, safe and friendly environment.
I also offer hypnotherapy for nail biting, phobias, sleep problems, performance anxiety, general anxiety, low confidence, fear of flying and stopping smoking.

Psychotherapy and counselling - sessions are 50 minutes long

Individuals:   Manchester £70   Bury  £60

Couples:  £80 (course of six sessions paid in advance - £450)

Fees to be paid via bank the day prior to your appointment (this guarantees your session) or alternatively, by booking a block of sessions in advance (see above)

Hypnotherapy - £65 per session, sessions are up to 1 hour 10 minutes
Hypnotherapy for smoking cessation in one two hour session plus complimentary follow up session after two weeks £200

Further information

My offices are located in Manchester and Bury centre. In central Manchester, close to The Town Hall, Barbirolli Square and the Library and within easy access to buses, trains and the Metrolink. I offer evening appointments up to 8pm.

In accordance with the BACP's guidelines for ongoing professional development, I have regular supervision, and ongoing continuous professional development.
