About me

Hello and welcome to my profile.

Whether you are suffering from anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, low self esteem and lack of confidence, or relational difficulties or something else, I can help. I am trained in psychotherapy and counselling and I am a registered member of BACP (MBACP) and work within their ethical framework, in a confidential manner. I have a level 7 Post Graduate level Diploma.

I work empathically and in a non judgemental way, giving a safe space for you and I to explore together how you are feeling and how it impacts you today. Whether you are experiencing anxiety or depression or have some other stress and concern, we can look at it together and find a way to resolve it. Low self esteem and emotional issues are common contributing factors - along with the sometimes traumatic things that happen to us, like relationship disruption for example.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative perspective. TA looks at ego states of different transactions and can be hugely helpful in navigating difficult or challenging relationships. TA is very good at pinpointing patterns that develop in childhood and carry on into adulthood. Psychotherapy/counselling can really help us make sense of things and move forward too. Sometimes we grow up in families who don't know how to cope with difficult emotions, so we grow up unable to safely express them. or maybe emotions are not talked about at all. Developing emotional literacy/intelligence helps us to navigate life more adequately. Whether it is childhood trauma you need to recover from or adult trauma, I can help.

I really enjoy helping people to have a greater sense of well being and quality of life, discovering who they are and what they want from life and how to cope with and recover from mental distress.

The first few sessions will be an opportunity for us to meet one another and to think together about what you need from therapy. Therapy can be shorter up to 12 sessions, or longer which would usually be open-ended which would be reviewed 6 monthly.

Sessions are for 50 minutes every week. If you would like to explore beginning your therapy journey give me a call or email and we can chat on the phone about it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
