About me

My Name is Jeanette Forsyth and I am known as Nettie. My theory is Person Centred and I work as a Counsellor, Psychotherapist and a Behaviour Strategist using a variety of Psychology Theories.

My organisation is called Challenging-Behaviour Counselling & Wellbeing Services. My counselling work has been with many differing people and ages from Children, Teens, Young Adults and Adults.

I am not a Play Therapist or an Art therapist but do use Creative Therapy within my work where needed. We have a registered ESA puppy in training: Dog called Neo. Neo certainly helps with creativity and we offer walk & talk sessions on request of clients.

Our organisation has other subcontractor Counsellors: waiting lists are minimal and needs can be matched. Both male and female Counsellors. We also have an Italian speaking Counsellor. A Couples Counsellor. A SoGrief & loss Counsellor.  If I can not help with your needs we have someone else who can.

We have a Charitable organisation attached to our Company "Challenging-Behaviour Counselling Wellbeing Foundation" that offers counselling for people (criteria to be met) who are not able to pay (or make a small donation) due to financial difficulties caused by being a victim of child abuse, domestic violence or personal health inability: this work is undertaken by Paid Counsellors and Volunteer Trainee Counsellors, looking for more hours to be accredited. Please request on contact.

Since 2014 I have been a volunteer Counsellor at a centre for women, working with issues in domestic violence (probation, drugs, alcohol, emotional physical sexual abuse, rape). My area of knowledge is Domestic Violence, Child abuse, ASD, Challenging-Behaviour, Anxiety and Anger as well as other topics.

We have group sessions For adults and children and do CPD and Parenting workshops. See website for more details.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Key details

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

We now have disability access. From pavement into room. Though toilet access step has two lots of two steps.
