About me

Today's world is fast moving and can offer many challenges and difficulties. Busy lives, communication issuesand a reluctance to burden those close to us can prevent us from being listened to. We can sometimes lose sight of who we are and what holds real meaning for us.

I can provide you with valuable ‘me’ time to be heard during challenging times  in a welcoming, comfortable and confidential setting without judgement. We will work together to make sense of what is happening and to understand your thoughts, feelings and attitudes about life by giving you the opportunity to explore and talk about your experiences, issues and problems.

I appreciate that choosing a counsellor is a daunting task.  I am a naturally caring, compassionate and empathetic counsellor. I am passionate about my work and committed to my clients.  It is important to me that you feel comfortable, safe, valued and respected at all times.

I practice from an integrative model of psychotherapy which blends aspects from Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Humanistic Therapies. I believe this form of therapy is helpful for my clients as it takes account of, and places importance and significance on, their ‘full life story’. This way of working, also, enables me to tailor and personalise my approach to suit their ‘uniqueness‘, needs and requirements.

I offer brief and long term therapy depending on your needs. I aim to work in a way that is straight forward, helping you to express yourself by using techniques you feel comfortable with. We will work towards resolution and develop strategies to help you cope better in the future, therefore, allowing you to move forward, reach your potential and live a happier and more fulfilled life.

Please feel free to give me a call or see my website for further information.

In the light of Covid-19 lock down and subsequent social distancing regulations, I am currently offering online and telephone counselling. This way of working, although not ideal for everyone, can be just as effective and some people prefer it.  If you are considering taking up counselling during this time please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss.  Take good care and stay safe.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
