Hi, my name is Jayne, I am a caring, attentive, professional BACP registered Counsellor. I work individually with clients from 5 years to 70 years old.
I have a wide range of experience and am passionate about supporting people, whether this is in crisis, bereavement, specific issues or for self development.
I have a number of years experience working with many different issues, including depression and anxiety, but have additional training for working with trauma.
I provide a safe, confidential space for clients to explore themselves and their concerns. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate and am fully insured.
I can also offer Equine Therapy which is particularly good for attachment issues, emotional regulation, resilience, ASD, ADHD and more.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling, which means that I can draw from different approaches to suit your needs. The approaches I predominantly use are Psychodynamic and relational based. I believe that our relationship is just as important as what we talk about and my training.
Our past greatly impacts on our present and therefore shapes our future. Relationships, our experiences and our environment all add up to who we are today and it is through awareness that we can gain insight, and through insight we can create change and positively influence the future.
I believe that emotional trauma happens as a result of poor relationships and it is through alternative relationship, i.e. the counselling relationship, that healing can and does occur. Theory I have learned informs my practice but it is the relationship that is the vehicle for change.
