Jason Edwards BA (Hons). Registered Member With BACP. Counselling Supervisor.
Hello, my name is Jason and I have worked as a counsellor for over 10 years.
What to expect
I provide a safe and confidential environment where we can explore the challenges you are facing together. I offer a warm, nurturing and non-judgmental service where you will be valued and listened to with empathy and acceptance. This setting will allow us the space and time to develop a professional counselling relationship that will help us work through the issues together. I use a Person-Centred and Humanistic approach and also have experience of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Family Systemic Therapy.
I am capable of working with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of issues and I also have experience of working with military personnel and people involved in providing emergency services. Through our work I will be able to provide some help and support for you. Our sessions together will last for up to an hour and through these we will be able to discuss the issues that you are facing and over time we will be able to discover more about you, your skills and abilities and how you can use these to help you manage more effectively. After some reflection and with greater understanding, together, we will look to develop some new skills that may help you deal with any similar situations in the future.
I am a fully qualified and registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I also have a BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice Studies and understand the difficulties of working in and being involved in this environment. I have just completed a Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) accredited Diploma in Counselling Supervision and I am currently studying a Master’s Degree in Counselling Children and Young People. I think my greatest qualification is my life experience.
As a member of the BACP I abide by their ethical guidelines and am insured accordingly, copies of all documentation and certification are available. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me, thank you.
In relation to Counselling Supervision, I have completed a Level 5 CPCAB accredited Diploma in Counselling Supervision and am awaiting certification. I use the Cyclical Model of supervision that will enable us to contract, focus on your clients, enable us to utilise the space to explore any issues and then provide a bridge to working with your clients before reviewing the effectiveness of our approach. I am able to offer Supervision to counsellors and also to other health care professionals
