Jason Bloomfield Grantham. BACP Accredited. Couples, individuals and families
Based in the heart of Grantham, just a few minutes walk from the town centre we have our health and well-being centre supporting families, individuals and couples.
We are a BACP Accredited Service which means that our practice has been deemed to meet the higher standards as a competent, ethical and independent service.
I work with couples, individuals and families. As a registered psychotherapist, executive coach and leadership mentor I use the elements from these areas to help my clients bring about lasting changes in their lives.
My specialism is Transactional Analysis or (TA) this is a form of therapy whereby I work with my clients to help them understand their behaviors and where these come from and most importantly how to change them.
As a marriage counsellor I help my clients build better relationships working with how they communicate with each other and provide support and guidance on dealing with any conflicts they may have. I use a range of psychometric assessments to provide clients with data that can help them bring about lasting changes.
I combine theory with practice enabling my clients to both understand the “why” as well as the “how”. Working with clients on their journey, sometimes of self-discovery and growth enabling them to take “their life in their hands". I help my clients to find a way through their issues and provide a safe and confidential space to do so.
I am able to offer home visits to disabled clients, with a small extra charge for travelling expenses.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained in the humanistic approach and integrate theory from the psychodynamic school where my core base comes from and this guides me when working with clients and helps them to manage and make sense of the issues they are facing.
My approach is warm and fair but challenging. I provide what some say a mirror that I help you look into and identify what you want to change and then we work on changing it. I believe that anyone can listen but sometimes this isn't enough and you need a firm guide to work with you, short and sometimes longer term in the form of a mentor.
Some of my clients come for a prolonged period but reduce the frequency down after they feel a little better. We then work on a more flexible basis and they come back every few months until they feel they are where they wanted to be.
I am also a NLP practitioner and life coach and believe I am able to offer a variety of approaches to support my clients that traditional therapy might not provide. I also hold an enhanced CRB certificate. I work with couples in either a counselling capacity or I offer couples coaching whereby I act as an objective support during difficult times in the relationship. In all cases I am able to work with talking and creative therapies.
As well as offering counseling I am fortunate enough to be able to offer coaching and mentoring. In addition to this I am qualified and very experienced in working with the personality and use a range of tools including preference, Inclusion and exclusion and other assessment models such as MBTI and FIRO and TKI. These all help my clients understand why and how. With this information I find this enables my clients to really make changes in their life.
