About me

I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist and hold membership with the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. I work with individuals, couples, families and children struggling with depression/low mood, stress, anxiety and phobias, anger-management, relationship difficulties, parenting/family-related issues, trauma and addiction. I offer both short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy and am available either face-to-face or via Skype.

How counselling can help

In my work with clients, I employ an integrative approach, drawing from person-centred, emotionally focused and narrative perspectives. As my client, I hope to partner and collaborate with you, creating a safe, non-judgmental space to examine identities that may no longer be serving you while exploring a preferred way of being. I believe that each person brings with them a different experience and understanding of the world, thus I will tailor my therapeutic conversations to address your individual needs and goals for your life. I offer a safe and confidential space where together we can explore the experiences and challenges that are bringing you to counselling and develop understanding and insight, while learning to cope with difficult feelings.

In my work with couples, I consider the relationship as the client and thus foster a safe and impartial space wherein each partner is supported in sharing his or her concerns and in learning to hear one another in new ways. Together we explore patterns of interaction in the relationship and ways in which you have become stuck, addressing each of your underlying feelings and needs so that you might experience a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship. By sharing your needs and feelings with each other in a safe and supportive environment, a deeper bond can be formed as a result of feeling heard and learning to be responsive to one another’s needs.

My mission is to support and guide you in your journey to developing a stronger sense of self and help you to experience relief from the challenges that have been keeping you from realizing your goals. My model of therapy is respectful of the human condition and honors the client’s experience, understanding that each of us have unique stories that we carry. I look forward to working with you and helping you to find balance and happiness in your life and experience long lasting change.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counselling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist and member of AFT (the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice.)

In addition to my private practice work, I also work as a counsellor at the University of West London where I support students facing a variety of challenges around their mental wellbeing. I have many years of experience working in schools, non-profit counselling services, in the NHS with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and various charities supporting at-risk youth. My extensive training and experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with a range of clients from all walks of life, all the way from age 3 years to 80 years old.

I specialize in working with couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties and have had extensive training and experience in emotionally focused therapy for couples.
