About me
Hello, I am Janine.
I am a relate trained counsellor with thousands of hours experience and over 13 years working with couples and individuals to manage the complexities of their relationships and personally emotive challenges.
My work is rooted in developing a deeper understanding and connection to self, and others, with a strong emphasis on the role of communication.
My approach is eclectic, drawing on various therapeutic theories and models to tailor support to each clients’ unique needs. I integrate psychoanalytical perspectives to explore underlying patterns and influences that may be obstructing personal growth in the here and now; and systemic theory to understand relationships within the broader context of family dynamics and social systems.
As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand the challenges and complexities that can arise – i.e. navigating societal expectations, social dynamics, or the intricacies of interactions between neurodivergent and neurotypical minds.
I support clients to manage conflict and difference, enhancing intimacy and connection, or overcoming life’s challenges. I am committed to creating a compassionate and supportive space where you can feel heard and empowered.
Some of the areas I cover:
Affairs and betrayal – loss of trust
Communication
Neurodivergence – Autism/ADHD
Anxiety/Depression
Divorce and Separation
Relationships – Family; Work; Friends; Personal
Loss and Grief
Stress
Emotional difficulties
Conflict
I further offer Single Intervention Therapy which is a ‘one session’ approach to difficulties of a specific nature with a specific focus. That might mean looking at solution-focussed possibilities to problems opposed to committing to ongoing therapy.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to supporting you.
