Janette Buchan MBACP (Accred)
I am a qualified and experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapist, fully insured and an accredited member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, adhering to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling. I hold a full indemnity insurance, DBS certificate and I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Organisation)
In my private practice I work with young people and adults in both short-term and long-term work, depending on the individuals requirement. I am also affiliated and carry out work for Private Healthcare Organisations including some EAP work.
Through the NHS I have worked with GP referrals via the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) contract and with work employees via Waveney District Council in Suffolk.
My experience working with young people follows 8 years working within a Further Educational setting with students age 16 years and above having previously worked with the tutors and staff.
Although my foundation is Psychodynamic, I do approach other models where necessary to sensitively adapt to what is needed for the individual, including CBT, Mentalisation and Solution-focused.
I have a separate room adjacent to my home specifically designed to create a warm, safe working environment. I live in a quiet cul-de-sac location and central for regular bus routes.
