About me

I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, and Adult Counsellor  experienced in working with children, young people and adults in private practice, school settings, GP’s surgeries and hospitals. I work psychotherapeutically and creatively to improve emotional well-being, using an integrative model that is psychodynamic and person-centred, drawing on neuroscience and attachment theory.

Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling:

Using a person-centred, attachment model, I help my young clients regulate their feelings, shifting to a better mental state, building self-awareness, self-confidence and resilience. From normal ups and downs, such as bullying and parental separation, to overwhelming issues, such as depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

Child Psychotherapy and Counselling:

I can help children with a range of problems, including depression, anxiety, anger, ASC, ADHD, OCD, separation issues, bereavement, moving home and sleeping difficulties. I like to use creative media, such as drawing and painting, sand trays, puppets, music, movement, drama and clay, in a fun and playful way. I also offer parent support sessions.

Adult Counselling:

You may be going through a particular difficulty at the moment and the safe, non-judgemental, empathic support of a counsellor could help you explore what is happening in your life, so that some insight and peace may emerge to enrich your future. Or perhaps you would simply like the opportunity to know yourself better and find greater fulfilment.

I currently offer:

  • Individual counselling sessions for children, young people and adults
  • Parent support sessions.
  • Services for schools and colleges

I am fully insured and a accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP accred). I have an enhanced DBS and receive regular clinical supervision in line with BACP guidelines.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
