Introducing Me to You
Hi and welcome.  I am a fully qualified, personable, and warm-natured counsellor with many years’ experience in helping clients struggling with a variety of personal issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress.  I am dedicated to supporting and helping you find new ways of enhancing your life and helping you move forward within a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental space.

How I will work with you
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I am able to draw upon a range of skills that can be personalised to meet your specific needs.  Our work will also be collaborative,  a team effort if you like, and I will respect the pace at which you feel most comfortable working.  To help you become more self-aware of any unhelpful blind spots, I may also use gentle challenges and introduce helpful tools you will be able to apply to your daily life.

What to expect from our first session

  • We will meet or speak whether weekly or alternately at the same time for 50 mins.
  • I will ask you certain questions about you and your life which will help me make an in-depth assessment of your current circumstances including any goals you have for therapy.

Free initial consultation
I offer a free 20 mins consultation whereby we speak and briefly discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. This way, at the end of the meeting, I hope you will be able to obtain a sense of me and how comfortable you feel about us potentially working together.

Taking what might be your first step towards something new requires courage and it may also feel quite daunting. However, sometimes, that first step might lead to positive changes in your life which you may have thought was never possible. Please feel free to get in touch for an initial chat.

I have worked across a variety of sectors in a voluntary role such as:

  • The NHS as an IAPT Counsellor
  • A Community Counsellor
  • In Secondary Education as a School Counsellor
  • In Private Practice where I adhere to BACP's best practices and code of ethics designed to ensure that you are protected and also receive the highest possible standards of therapy.

BA (Hons) Counselling
Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling
Diploma Level 3 in Developing Counselling Skills

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
