About me

Welcome.

I aim to offer a gently facilitative, warm and compassionate space for you to explore the challenges or experiences that are impacting your life.

I hold a deep belief in the resources held within all of us as humans and will work to hear, support and empower you to navigate your path through whatever you are facing or wish to explore.

I have wide and varied experience working with all sorts of issues and difficulties, and the challenges of coping with the emotions these bring.

I work with deep empathy in a non-medicalising way, believing that much of who we are, what we feel and how we behave can arise from what has happened to us in the past or is happening to us now.

I have particularly extensive experience in working with people facing illness or loss, as well as those at the end of life or experiencing the pain and confusion of grief (including bereavement by suicide). I also have particular training and experience in working with the impact of trauma.

However, whatever you are facing, I aim to meet you just as you are, to listen deeply and to support you to the best of my ability.

I offer a free, no-obligation, online 30 minute consultation to give us the opportunity to meet each other and to see if we feel I would be a good fit for what you are seeking from counselling or psychotherapy.

Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further. Please note, I only work with adult clients aged 18+.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
