I strive to give my clients a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space in which to explore what's important to them. I know what it feels like to have nobody to talk to or family and friends that just don't seem to understand you. That feeling of confusion, you know you're unhappy but don't really understand why, or you know why but cannot find a way forward. Counselling can help clear that confusion.
I am an experienced Counsellor who has helped many clients to find their own path forward. My clients are dear to me, working together we can bring clarity and understanding.
Training, qualifications & experience
As well as my own practice, I volunteer as a Staff Counsellor for a North London charity and work with the ambulance sector charitable organisation to provide counselling for ambulance staff and their families from all over the United Kingdom. I practice in both Finchley Central (next to Finchley Central Underground Station) and in Braintree, Essex, as well as online and via the telephone.
My clinical approach is psychodynamic which stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experience in shaping our current behaviour. The aim being to build a trusting relationship with you where you can feel completely comfortable speaking about the things that are troubling you. Often we are unaware of why we do things the way we do, together we can uncover the clues and investigate the answers.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Initial assessment (50 minutes) free of charge. Sessions from £40.00 to £70.00 (depending upon location and time of day). Some concessionary rates are available.
Concessions offered for
In the first instance we would arrange an assessment session (50 minutes) where we can discuss your present circumstances, as well as your past - this session is free of charge. If you decide that you would like further sessions, then we will arrange those sessions at a date and time mutually convenient for us both. Please note, there is no obligation to continue following that assessment, the choice is completely your own.
