About me

I believe counselling has the potential to help you to create the awareness to empower and help yourself to do what's right for you.

  • Are you feeling lost?  Feeling sad or anxious. Want a life of purpose?  Looking for meaning?
  • Do you feel low, stressed, depressed or suffer anxiety and don't know what to do?
  • Feeling stuck or negatively affected by old patterns and ways from the past?
  • Are you affected by feelings of depression, inadequacy, guilt, anger or shame?
  • Do you wonder how others seem to be ok but you're not?
  • Have you suffered a loss?   Are you struggling to understand grief?
  • Does your past affect your present?   Do you struggle with family or relationship issues?

If you answered yes to any of the questions read how the counselling I offer may be able to help you.

  • A safe environment in which to talk about your problems.
  • Time to confidentially explore feelings, behaviours, thoughts and what you want.
  • Space in which you can safely explore past experiences to gain a better understanding of how thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect your everyday living.
  • Working with a professional who listens and supports you to help yourself to take charge of your life.

We each have a unique way of being with others and dealing with situations.

I am an Integrative trained Counsellor.   I use a variety of approaches and techniques which I link and blend to adapt to each client to work with a unique therapy which flows to suit your needs.

Sometimes life can be difficult and I offer you the opportunity to feel supported to explore and understand what is creating your difficulty to help you find a resolution and ways of coping.

I also offer Personal Coach-Therapy and Personal/Life Coaching (see below under further information).

My practice room for counselling, personal/life coaching and coach-therapy is in Harold Wood (currently online and phone only).

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I also offer Personal Consultancy Coach-Therapy which uniquely combines a coaching orientated approach with counselling.  It cuts out the need to work separately with either a coach or a counsellor.
I
t integrates coaching and therapy in a single session or individual sessions which are either therapeutic or coaching.

Working with me for coaching helps you to focus on the present and the future on issues and behaviours that you wish to change or move away from and for the achievement of specific outcomes.

I have set up Domestic Violence Awareness training with a colleague.   It is a survivor’s real experience aimed at giving participants in depth and a wide knowledge of domestic violence.
