About me
Hi, I’m Jane, a qualified counsellor/ therapist and coach. My journey into counselling has been driven by a deep passion for helping people navigate life’s complexities without any judgement. I'm a volunteer counsellor with a mental health charity, as well as running my own practice.
My sessions can be either face to face, online or walk & talk (depending on location). Choose what suits you best. I work in a person centred way, which puts your needs at the centre of all we do. I'll offer insights, reflections and different ways of exploring your thoughts within each 50min session.
I bring a blend of empathy and focus, with a commitment to growth and change, but at your pace. Together, we’ll discuss how you'd like to work, so I can flex my approach to suit your goals and needs.
I have extensive professional training and development in a range of areas, as well as my own lived and professional experience. Therapy is a form of selfcare, getting to the root of our emotions and situations, helping us better navigate the rest of our life. Trying therapy can be a scary step to take, and I'll do my best to stay with you on your journey as we go at your pace.
Self confidence, self belief and self esteem may be areas to explore, if they're having an impact. As a result we may have anxiety, depression, loss of confidence, self doubt, relationship or family issues which I can support you with. Often we don't even realise or know what our challenge is, we may 'just' not be feeling how we want to.... We may have supressed our emotions to the point of numbness. Who am I anymore? I'm not enough? I can't cope....
I'm able to support a range of trauma, grief and loss experiences, which bring a range of emotions. Loss of our sense of self, through health challenges, menopause, redundancy, divorce or relationship challenges, difficult family dynamics, carer responsibilities, redundancy and finance challenges. Who am I? I feel like me anymore... Can I get the old me back? Why don't they understand?
Loss of others, through long term illness, death, pregnancy and baby loss, suicide, divorce, ending relationships or friendship. Unseen losses that others may not know about or value as much can also hit us hard and we need a space open up. Why didn't I do more? What else could I have done? How do I carry on? Are these feelings 'normal'?
We can have an initial call before you decide if I'm the right person for you and/or you could look at my website too. Thanks for reading my details, take care.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
