Jane Watts BACP
Qualified, integrative therapist in Hay on Wye. Experienced with supporting adults and children with anxiety and depression and with relationship difficulties.
If you are unhappy, lonely, unsure about things or confused, then I can help you untangle your feelings and begin to make changes that are meaningful. I can give you individually focussed support and care, within a confidential, trusting counselling relationship.
I have a warm, comfortable room, which is private, to ensure confidentiality.
I always try to be compassionate and I take care to listen and understand my clients in order to achieve positive outcomes. I work from a person-centred approach, hand in hand with other approaches, that help to find the best fit for each individual client and their needs. Please ring or email me if you would like more information or to have a chat about what is worrying you.
If we feel anxious, depressed, sad or angry it is important to have support and not struggle on alone. Please get in touch because counselling can help. I work with all kinds of issues, I will never judge you.
Former clients say they have experienced real change and have been kind enough to send testimonials -please see below.
Sometimes we do not know what is wrong. We feel unsettled. You may simply want to make lifestyle changes or plans for the future and want to talk things through, or work on relaxation and mindfulness. I will be happy to help.
When you come for an initial appointment we will talk through what is important to you. I will explain how the counselling works. After this, you can decide whether you want to continue and book some sessions. You can stop at any time.
BACP registered. BACP Children, Young People & Families registered. Enhanced DBS clearance. I take regular supervision and engage in ongoing professional development. I will be happy to show you my certification at any time.
Please ring me for a chat or to make an appointment.
Training, qualifications & experience
My work with adults, families and children spans many years. I trained as a teacher after university. Later, troubled by the numbers of children experiencing emotional difficulties, I became a family support advisor for a well known national charity. These roles led in turn, to me qualifying as a counsellor, to work therapeutically with adults and young people.
I have a CPCAB level four diploma (BACP Approved). I am an integrative therapist working primarily from a person-centred approach. I use a variety of methods depending on the client's needs. I find this works well in terms of identifying and addressing individual needs. I talk through with clients what the approach is and how I feel it will help. I will always refer to another therapist, if I can not offer what you need.
I have worked in health care, schools, local authority (disabled children and young people's service) and private practice. Working with people of all ages has enabled me to have greater insight and sensitivity in to issues that affect us and how they can alter our lives.

'I had just lost my Mum and was really not coping with the situation. I could not see a way forward. I really did not want to go to counselling, now I wish I had gone earlier. From my first visit to see Jane I felt the glimmer of hope. And that is all you need. Jane is very knowledgable and experienced, listens well and works with you to guide you through a really painful process. Highly recommended, please don.t keep putting it off.
Thank you so much Jane' (2018)
