About me

Are you experiencing difficulties in your relationship, maybe you have lost the spark, have there been affairs or betrayals, insecurities, or maybe something that just doesn't feel right? As an individual, would you like to be in a fulfilling relationship but maybe not feeling confident or finding yourself repeating familiar toxic patterns? please do not feel alone. I can help.

Since opening my private practice in 2008, I have been assisting clients in making positive life changes by helping them cultivate greater self-awareness and emotional flexibility. Although we start with the here and now, unresolved issues from the past create obstacles that can hold people back and cause them to feel "stuck." Together in therapy, I can help you identify and work through these underlying issues. Through the therapeutic process, symptoms of negative thought patterns begin to lift, making it possible to develop inner peace and emotional freedom, stronger self-esteem, and more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others. Sharing your personal struggle with another person takes courage but with support and guidance, therapy can help you make enduring changes towards a greater sense of empowerment and a more purposeful life.

Although my approach is informed by humanistic, psychodynamic, Imago, Neuroscience and behavioural therapy, but most of all being human, can bring you an engaging and interactive experience. My education and life experience give me a unique and seasoned perspective to help you to return to the YOU before the world told you who to be!

Through my private practice, I have a number of services available, including, relationship therapy for Individuals; Couples Counselling;Workshops; Employee Assistance Programmes.

If you are looking to make positive changes to your life or that of your employees lives but are uncertain of how to proceed, I am pleased to offer a free twenty minute telephone/online consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Testimonials

Just wanted to say thank you again for helping us through these difficult times. We are getting on so much better, and our communication levels have gone through the roof.
Our family life is wonderful and even though the boys are challenging at times, we are working together and supporting one another.
Thank you x

I have recently had therapy sessions with Jane. I immediately felt at ease with her and felt that the environment was, safe, secure, trustworthy and comforting. Jane has a lovely nature and professionalism that is second to none. She has helped me to address my personal issues and unlock a lifetime of thought patterns/behaviours, I will be forever grateful." MJ, London.

After a traumatic marriage break up which left me as a single parent to my 6 year old daughter and trying to resurrect my business to climb out of debt, I had reached rock bottom. I lost all my confidence and spent my evenings drinking too much wine. I knew I had to do something about getting my head in the right place to start living again and Jane was fantastic. The first few sessions I spent sobbing into the tissues, which surprised me as I didn’t realise how much emotion I had bottled up for the best part of 2 years. Jane was calm and a good listener, whilst still managing to coax out of me deep rooted feelings but in a caring way so I felt able to talk. I left the sessions feeling calmer and over the following few weeks have managed to cope with situations much better to the point where I feel my “mojo” is back. MJ, Surrey

I have now maintained my weight loss for a year. I genuinely don’t believe that I could go back to my old eating habits having learned so much about the reasons why I used to over eat.Jane and the work shops have been invaluable to me and have literally changed my life. I could not recommend anyone more highly. If you’re reading this then go for it! JE, Herts

Through a recent work situation, I didn’t let my old negative thoughts run away with me and felt confident in my ability.

Thank you so much for your help, with out you, I wouldn’t be in the position I am now. DD, Herts.

“Having worked with Jane for the same organisation over a number of years, I know how committed and passionate Jane is about mental and physical health and well being for all people, particularly those from vulnerable groups. She engaged with service users (clients) with empathy and in a non judgemental manner, building a firm foundation of trust and ensuring that in the relationships she developed with clients their views were respected, their dignity and confidentiality maintained and positive outcomes identified in their own recovery journey. From my experence I would like to recommend Jane's ability to provide a safe and holistic environment where people can begin to express and work through some of their diificult and/or complex issues. She is indeed a true role model in the therapeutic field." LB, Herts
