About me

Hello- and welcome !

Are you looking for help today because you're....

Always thinking about things and can't switch off?

Unable to relax and enjoy your 'me' time? Or forgotten what 'me' time is?

Work is stressing you out?

Too difficult to face getting up for work?

Anxiety -about everything?

Anxiety around Home Life?

Family Life?

Friendships?

Lost interest in the things you used to look forward to?

Any of this sounding familiar?

Would you like to talk to someone-who 'gets' all this?

Would you like to actually be listened to -and understood?

Would you like to be encouraged and valued as a person?

Lastly -would you like to be able to start feeling more like you again, by learning how to reduce your anxiety and your stress levels?

Why Choose Me to Help You?

Having had a career as a manager, working my way up the ladder, I really understand the stress and anxiety that work can bring.

There are many reasons why work can be stressful . These can vary from workplace bullying to heavy workloads, or feeling that you are not being supported or listened to when you raise a concern or make a suggestion.

People like you that I have helped have told me that even from the very first session, they feel like a huge weight has been lifted from them, which starts to reduce their anxiety and stress levels. People also tell me that they are feeling more confident in making their own choices and decisions about things.

I would genuinely love to help you to feel that your life can make sense again.

Please do get in touch with me by e-mail or visit my website to arrange an initial phone appointment.

Also:

I would love to help you if, as a Christian, you wanted to choose to share your story with a counsellor of the Christian faith, and would like prayerful support.

I love to help all kinds of people with a faith, or no faith, find their way through their problems and get the help they are looking for.

Training, qualifications & experience

I started my counselling career as a Volunteer Counsellor, where I stayed for six years.

During this time, I helped many people who came to me for counselling with issues such as bereavement, loss, relationship issues, financial issues, anxiety, stress, depression and abuse.

I have been working in my private practice, Caring Counselling, since 2021 and I work with people who would like support with their workplace stress. I also work with children, young people and adults that are wanting support after a bereavement.

I work as an Integrative Counsellor, which means that you will be given counselling that fits your unique needs and situation.

I am qualified to AQA Level 4 Diploma Standard.

I also hold a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care.

I regularly attend different training courses , so that I keep my learning and development as a counsellor fresh and up-to-date.

This means that you can be confident that you are working with a counsellor who wants to use their learning for your benefit, and works ethically and within their competences.

I am a registered member of the BACP-British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Accred.)

I am also a Registered Member of ACC-Association of Christian Counselling.

I am a member of ACTO-Association for Counselling and Therapy Online.

I have had ACTO recognised training to work online and on the telephone.

My private practice is insured and I have registered with the ICO-Information Commissioners' Office.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association for Christian Counsellors (ACC)

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
