About me

A friendly and approachable counsellor who is based on Canvey Island, in Essex.

My counselling practice is online (Zoom) or on the phone . Clients tell me that they are finding these methods helpful and convenient, as it saves them time and also the need to travel.

Are you looking for a counsellor who 'gets' you?

It's so important to find the right counsellor, so I would like to offer you a free 30 minute Zoom or phone consultation, to see if I am a 'good fit' for you.

What I can Help You With:

If you are really struggling right now with any of the following:

Problems at work-bullying, culture issues, disciplinaries, or office politics?

Loss-whether a bereavement, loss of job, relationship, routine, or friendship?

Life adjustments-are you looking for a new purpose since retiring? Family left home? or any other life changes?

The Way I Work

I work with you as an individual by building your trust and confidence, so you feel able to share your worries, fears, concerns and anxieties around your problem.

There is no judgment here, you will be supported, valued and encouraged to share your story in your own time and in your own way.

What You Can Expect

You can expect to change and grow in confidence, self-belief and feel able to make good choices in your life situation again.

Counselling is not a quick fix. It can feel tough at times, however the rewards are worth all the effort, as you will learn ways of looking at life that will serve you well.

As a Christian, I am happy to hear from Christians- or those who have no faith-  who would prefer to share their story with a counsellor of the Christian faith, and would like prayerful support.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been counselling in a volunteer role for six years. I have experience of counselling those with a range of issues , including bereavement, loss, relationship issues, financial issues, anxiety, stress, depression and abuse.

I work as an Integrative Counsellor, which means that you will be given counselling that fits your unique needs and situation.

I am qualified to AQA Level 4 Diploma Standard.

I also hold a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care.

I am a registered member of the BACP-British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am also a Registered Member of ACC-Association of Christian Counselling.

I am a member of ACTO-Association for Counselling and Therapy Online.

I have had ACTO recognised training to work online and on the telephone.

My private practice is insured and I have registered with the ICO-Information Commissioners' Office.
