Jane Skinner MSc (Psyc), CTA (P), UKCP (Accred) Psychotherapist & Supervisor
I am an experienced UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist, as well as a Counsellor and Supervisor. I believe in working collaboratively and offer an empathic, supportive, thoughtful and confidential therapeutic relationship in order to explore, express and gain understanding of the feelings and thoughts that are causing you distress.
Often the current difficulties we experience in our lives have developed as a result of our early history and past experiences. We often find ourselves repeating old familiar patterns perhaps hoping for a different outcome.
These patterns have been created from a need to protect ourselves and survive often painful and difficult experiences and feelings. Perhaps one particular event has overwhelmed and we find we can no longer cope. Or perhaps we have been coping alone for too long.
A therapeutic relationship offers a place to gain understanding about the difficulties we are having in our life, so that we can make changes and move forward.
I am an experienced UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist and counsellor, based in Winchester city centre and Christchurch, Dorset, not far from Bournemouth, Lymington and The New Forest.
I also offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, on both an individual and group basis, please contact me for further details.
I am an accredited member of the UKCP and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I am also a member of the following professional Transactional Analysis organisations: ITAA, IARTA, EATA and UKATA.
I hold an enhanced DBS (CRB) check.
