About me
Finding the right therapist can feel confusing, especially when you are feeling at your most vulnerable. I have a warm caring approach and my aim is to walk along side you as we work together to find a way forward that is best for you.My aim is to create a place where you are given the space to reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I can tailor your therapy to meet your particular needs as an individual and the problems you encounter. I utilise Psychodynamic skills to help identify patterns in your life which are hindering everyday living, Person Centred skills to help reinforce a sense of self and personal confidence and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to find solutions to particular problems and help with coping mechanisms. I offer both long and short term counselling, but ultimately the length of time you spend in therapy is your choice.
My knowledge and skills have developed through my work in private practise, as a counsellor at a mental health charity and working at a bereavement service. This has bought me in contact with individuals suffering from issues such as anxiety, stress, depression , drink and drug related addictions, as well as diagnosed issues such as PTSD, bi-polar and OCD. My work in bereavement and loss has included the trauma associated with suicide and the issues which arise for carers of those with Dementia.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners, and as such I bound by their Ethical Code of Practise.

I am also available for clinical supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors individually or in groups.
