Jane McCabe Registered Member MBACP
I am a qualified Person-Centred counsellor with ongoing experience of working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression. I have worked in an NHS setting and in private practice for more than 8 years. Whatever issues you are currently facing that are causing you to feel unhappy, I offer a warm, safe, empathic and non-judgemental setting in which to explore your feelings.
Exploring painful feelings within an accepting, empathic and confidential setting can bring clarity and an understanding of ourselves and our patterns of behaviour. We can then choose whether to make positive changes to improve personal wellbeing. You are not alone on this journey, I will support you towards feeling happier and more fulfilled in your life.
Depression can affect self-esteem and confidence which can lead to social withdrawal and isolation. It can impact on a person's life, affecting sleep, appetite and concentration. It can lead to relationship and work problems, among other issues. This all feeds back into the feelings of worthlessness experienced by a person struggling with depression, therefore maintaining the depression. It can be a vicious cycle!
I work with many issues including, but not limited to, bereavement and loss, relationship issues, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, work related issues and chronic health conditions such as ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold Professional Indemnity insurance.
