About me

Hello and welcome to my page. I am an experienced, qualified integrative trained counsellor and psychodynamic therapist working with people who feel sad, have anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and people dealing with grief, bereavement and relationship issues with others or yourself. I am offering sessions online and in person and I am happy to have a 10 minute free chat to see if you feel I can help you.

How Therapy Can Help

My approach is genuine and committed, to be somewhere where you can unburden yourself, without judgement. What is most important to me is the quality of relationship I have with my clients. It is my aim therefore to provide a confidential non-judgemental safe space ensuring you are at ease with myself, where you feel I can hear whatever you may bring. I work integratively which gives me the opportunity to work and support you best from a range of practices that suit your individual needs and wants. I am fully aware how life can feel overwhelming, exhausting and that you may feel stuck. I am here to support you and help you step forward in your life.

Bereavement

As well as private practice I work for a North London Bereavement Service where I see clients for up to 14 months once a week. No words can describe the death of a loved one, and each individual comes with their unique story, grief and ranges of emotions. It can be a very dark and frightening place, sometimes with conflict too, and I work to help you find ways to live life again in a meaningful way, within that I will help you connect with your emotions. It is a safe space where you can spill and empty everything, where I will be your sounding board and together we can look at normalising and processing all that you bring.

Grieving is an ongoing process and therefore I work at taking things at a pace you feel comfortable.

I will hold you at your most vulnerable, and help get you to a point of acceptance, whilst knowing that the loved one will never be forgotten.

Relationship With Yourself Counselling

I have a particular area of interest in this subject and work with a lot of clients experiencing relationship struggles, within themselves, others and in relationship to addiction and destructive patterns of behaviour. I know what it is like to be rock bottom and how dark a place it can be. If you struggle with confidence issues, finding meaning or direction in your life I am able to support you and together we will deal with things one step at a time. I am able to contain whatever you may bring and to help you see a way through, so you can reconnect with yourself in a positive way.

Relationship/Marriage counselling

You may be coming to Marriage/Couples counselling as a last resort when effective communication has broken down and each of you feel alone and misunderstood. Often one, if not both of you have given up hope of believing your wants and needs, can be met by the other. I really empathise with how painful this can be.

I work with both of you, clarifying what you both want out of the relationship and helping you communicate with each other so you can work together without blame.

Another important part of the therapy is to help you both understand how the intention of what you say may not be what is heard by your partner. I will help you be more authentic, understanding and reconnect.

I would expect to see a couple for around 8 weekly sessions, followed by occasional follow-ups after that should the couple require.

What To Expect In Your First Session

Our first meeting will be an opportunity to meet each other and discuss some of the issues you feel able to bring initially.

If you would like to contact me to discuss any aspects of the counselling and to find out more information you can reach me on 077994-10727 or email here.

It takes courage, and I sincerely understand this, but it will hopefully be the start of moving forward, healing and living a happier more fulfilling life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have many references to support my work showing that through the therapy you can often see the light and get up from a very low place.

"My sessions with Jane were an invaluable part of accepting my loss in the journey of bereavement. Jane was able to help me understand my emotions and feelings, I was often surprised by how she was able to interpret my words and emotions. The sessions were very relaxed and I always felt comfortable and not judged. I thank Jane from the bottom of my heart for helping me understand my emotions, learn how to deal with and accept the loss of my dearest darling husband, the love of my life."

"I would like to register my delight at having been assigned to Jane Jason as my counsellor over the past twelve weeks. I could not have chosen a more appropriate person if I had been given a choice in the matter. From day one I was put at ease by her insightful approach to what have been on-going personal challenges for many years. I now have a choice as to which route to pursue, but what is as important is that I have a route."

" The counselling gives the space to talk about the problems, but it feels directional in that you come away less confused and with more understanding. It helps makes sense of what is needed and is like putting a puzzle together. You feel calmer and more able to work through the situation. Thank you Jane for your support, and helping life get much better."
