Jane Hughes, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, reg. UKCP and MBACP
I am a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Norwich city centre. I offer individual therapy sessions in a safe and confidential environment. There is parking near to my practice. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Counselling is an opportunity to explore current and past difficulties which may still be impacting on you, without fear of judgement or rejection. Anxiety and depression are often indicators we are struggling to cope with our lives, and we need to make changes. I offer a compassionate, therapeutic space to explore whatever you would like to bring to the sessions. It’s an opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions which would not feel safe to discuss with family, friends or work colleagues. It is through talking about thoughts and feelings together that insight can arise, and the process of change can begin.
I offer short-term and long-term sessions, depending on what you bring to the sessions and what you would like to gain from them. The first appointment offers an opportunity to discuss this in detail and decide on if this is a commitment you would like to make.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc in Integrative Counselling from Middlesex University. I am registered with the UKCP and I am a member of the BACP.
I have worked in the NHS and Voluntary sector for a number of years working with people presenting with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and the effects of trauma. I have experience of working in an attachment-focused service with parents who are experiencing relationship difficulties with their babies and children.
I am committed to engaging in an on-going program of professional development.
