About me
I offer a warm, supportive space for your recovery, growth and change. I provide art psychotherapy and talking therapy for you to explore your difficulties with: neuro-diversity, grief, anxiety, addiction, identity, queer issues, body image, relationship difficulties, attachment disruption and complex health needs. I also work with adults who have experienced acute inpatient care, chronic mental health challenges, and acute physical illness. Art therapy allows non-verbal expression of your difficulties and it is a gentle therapy. I am flexible and adaptable to people's needs, adjusting to the here and now. I am passionate about art psychotherapy and co-create with people, encouraging them to explore and express problems and strengths, building self-confidence and resilience, to feel heard, recognised and understood. For art therapy, an initial assessment is to see if art therapy is what you want, and if I am the right therapist for you. We will explore various materials, and engage in creativity as we talk about what you want from art therapy. There is no right or wrong way of working and you don't have to be good at art.
Next steps: email, call or text to book a free initial 15 minute conversation. You will see my contact details at the top of this page.

Further information
Art therapy approach: During the assessment, I listen to your story, and I may gently ask you questions about your early life experiences (only if this is comfortable for you), to gain a developmental picture and how you have learned to relate to yourself, the people around you and your environment. This is done at your pace. You may choose to tell me your story in your art-making and this is what art therapy is all about.
I offer Guided Drawing which is a sensorimotor intervention aimed at building inner resources and processing trauma. It also enables people to identify areas in their body that store difficult life experiences, to help process those events. Guided Drawing is an intervention that can be used in groups.
