Jane Gerrard BSc (Hons) Reg MBACP
I have a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy Professional Practice, and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I continue to practice in both the voluntary and statutory sector, and have counselled clients in relation to a plethora of issues including bereavement, depression and anxiety, relationship difficulties, and work related problems.
I understand that life's problems can, sometimes, feel confusing, conflicting and, subsequently, overwhelming. As a result, it may be challenging to make meaningful choices, insightful decisions, or to find satisfactory answers. As a client led therapist I aim to accompany you in, what may be, a complicated and frightening journey towards emotional stability and psychological well being.
The Person-Centred, non-directive, paradigm of therapy showcases empathic understanding, genuineness, and unconditional acceptance of the client. This prevailing attitude is encapsulated into the professional ethos of my work, irrespective of the subject matter that the client may bring.
This approach means that I will not advise you, but will offer a listening, confidential environment in which you will be heard, hopefully empowered, but not judged.
I have up to date, ongoing, Indemnity Insurance for my private practice, and have regular professional supervision to enhance reflective and quality provision. Please e mail or phone for further details and availability.
